Tree viewer¶
Open a phylogenetic tree and explore it in your browser: rectangular, circular or unrooted, from a handful of tips to a million. The tree is laid out once, only what is on screen is redrawn, and nothing you open is uploaded.

Drop a Newick file anywhere on this page, or . Nothing leaves your browser. Drop a second file with a header and one row per tip and it is drawn as strips beside the names.

- Move: drag the tree, or tab to it and use the arrow keys and Page Up and Page Down; hold Shift for longer steps.
- Zoom: scroll, double-click, or press + and -. Click a node to fill the view with its clade, and Fit or Home shows the whole tree again.
- Find: type part of a name, or a list of names, and press Enter. Enter again goes to the next match, and Shift with it to the one before.
- Overview: on a wide screen a small picture of the whole tree marks the part in view; click or drag it to jump there.
- Traits: after the tree, drop a table with a header and one row per tip, and it is drawn as coloured strips beside the names. Drop draws without it again.
- Export SVG saves the current view as a karyon figure, and the line under the tree gives the same view as a command.
